Press quotes

“It feels like the funeral doom counterpart to Sleep's Dopesmoker.”

Bandcamp

“Rarely you'll find an album where artwork, lyrics and every single note form an inseparable bond. Shackleton is this album.”

Bandcamp

Named after the legendary Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton, this 42-minute single-track EP channels the desolation and endurance of polar expeditions into a massive wall of doom. Recorded by Dominique Fricker and mastered by Martin Kesa, Shackleton marked the band’s first collaboration with external engineers.

Lyrics

Ice
Death
Cold
Must
Walk
Crawl

Crawl
Don’t
Sleep
One
More
Step

A change in the water’s color
Harbinger of all the things to follow
Like frozen statuettes
Hold on stand still
Relentless storms revealing icy bones
Under black flesh

Dead feet carry dead bodies
And burning minds
We are doomed to wander at the end
Of the world

Cold
Empty
Void
Must
Walk
Crawl

We are doomed to wander at the end
Of the world
Dead feet carry dead bodies
And burning minds
Titanic clouds, the sky’s so low
The horizon so far away
Don’t lose your hope
With every step you take

Titanic clouds, the sky’s so low
The horizon so far away
We are doomed to wander at the end
Of the world.
